The fishing town is isolated by the Guajira desert at the northern most tip of South America. Massive sand dunes fall into the Caribbean Sea. Nomadic Wayuu herdsman cross relatively easily between Colombia and Venezuela. Popular with kite boarders and overlanders, the community welcomes those daring enough to make the voyage.
